A noun generalizing the end of a relationship between two people, wherein one partner (usually the woman) slowly disassociates from contact, affection and/or attention from the other partner over a period of time (days or weeks).

Jonathan: So how are things going with your boy?

Jill: Eh, I'm not feeling him as much as I was before. I'm thinking of pulling an Operation Fade Away.

Jonathan: That's not cool. You should tell him right now that you're not into him, rather than dragging it out.
