It's a verb for when you're totally bullshitting something, making it up as you go along, winging it, it's a fail, etc.

Person A: Man, this test is hard as fuck!

Person B: Yeah, I know Imma just have to cop a shit.

OR

Girlfriend: Do you think this top makes me look fat?

Boyfriend: Uhhh... (to self) I'm totally copping a shit.... (outloud) No, of course not! Pffff, no!

OR

Teacher: What's the contrapositive of the inverse statement?

Student: Hmm.... (totally copping a shit) There's no such thing??

To acccept a unfavorable outcome to a situation.

Mainly used when someone is acting unreasonably to a bad situation "man... just cop it sweet". Has also been extended by some Sourthern Sydney Cultures to "cop it sweet on the back foot"
