A type of landmine that waits for about five seconds after being set off, then flies up in the air and explodes at crotch or head level. Source of the myth that you can just stay on a landmine and be safe, although in real life trying that would just make your leg explode.

If you trip a bouncing betty, the best plan is probably to duck.

Popularized in the song of the same title by Meryn Cadell. A type of marriage or relationship between a man and a woman whereby one or both are gay/lesbian, but are together to mask their sexual orientation or keep up an approved appearance for family, friends or other social pressures.

At a Wedding:

girl: Wow, Billy and Sara make a great couple! They're so good together.
