Andrea: Look at this great necklace! It's made of seashells, and someone has strung them together with fishing line. How awesome! It's only $259.00!

David: Have you bumped your head? That's only worth about three dollars!

Andrea: As always, I will not listen to you. I'm buying it anyway.

David: My wife is a vacationnaire. See you in the poorhouse.

Vicariously vacationing

when co-worker overshares about all their enjoyable, fun, adventurous escapades while on vacation, while you are stuck at work, dreaming of you, yourself one day leaving the office to go on vacation.

Todd: If you could get that email out by 9 a.m., that would be great. By the way, I’m on a boat right now watching killer whales! So exciting, right?!!

Nicole: Sure, Todd. Sounds great. Sure wish I could stop vicariously vacationing through you and go to Fiji!

American Greed Vacation

This is the type of vacation that rich people take. They do not go to see the sights of the place they are visiting but to "relax" (except maybe to golf) and spend most of the vacation stuffing their faces with fancy food or drinking gallons of wine and lounging around the hotel or possibly the beach or pool. Generally the kinds of people who go to the same place all the time and have no appreciation for what a real vacation is.

When you go to Hawaii you see a lot of people in the resort areas on American Greed Vacations.

vacation lag

similar to jet lag, occurs during vacation time when one goes to sleep at a later time than usual because of mild to intense partying. after the vacation is over, it is hard for one to stay awake at work or school and one fells groggy through the whole day, usually passes after a few days of going to sleep at regular times.

Dude, i have a major case of vacation lag.

Vacationer

"Vacationer" is a special version of the Australian Holden Commodore vehicle. The equipment level of a Vacationer was identical to the base model executive model with features such as air conditioning and power steering included as standard. The optional extras were listed as: power antenna, tow pack and rear window louvre.
However, Vacationer buyers whom opted not to pay for these optional extras paid a premium of $5,000 for a base model executive with "special Vacationer decals". This ultimately meant that Vacationer owners paid $5,000 for the addition of three stickers and light blue pin striping to their vehicles. Subsequently, many owners were frustrated with resale values and went to great lengths to position their cars as "limited edition" - whereas astute buyers would point out that the Vacationer is tarted up executive purchased by schmucks too poor to afford the mid range "Berlina" model.
