Girls that go to Saint Mary's are referred to as "smicks" or "belles." There's a huge misconception that girls come here just because they didn't get into ND. While sometimes true, smicks love their college and their sisters. Oh and they get all the resources of ND for a tiny fraction of the tuition of domers.

Students who attend this school are more than likely to be given second looks when going to college. Because of its cost and because of the few very snobbish people who go there, Saint Mary's Hall has the bad rap for being a snobby school for bratty rich kids, but this isn't always the case since the school gives full scholarships to learned people. Saint Mary's Hall is often called SMH for short.
