A landed immigrant is a permanent resident which has not been granted citizenship of the country they have moved to yet, not an illegal immigrant, one that can work legally.

Not allowed to vote or join the armed forces higher than a certain rank, also not allowed represent the country they moved to.

My mates and I got smashed at the pub in an attempt to outdo one another to who could drink the most beer. The level of laddery increased exponentially and the ensuing rousiness caused us to be kicked out of the pub to crawl back to from wence we came.
