ipods are not that bad. they are easy to use and the itunes jukebox is extremely user friendly. they are pretty expensive and the headphones suck but there are pros and cons to everything. i havent had one problem with my ipod and im on windows. and not everyone buys a 10000 song ipod and puts 50 songs on it or wears the stupid white headphones even though there are rich kids who buy them as a status enhancer. also, i ahvent had one problem with mine and im on windows. i have never used a creative or iriver, and im thinking that alot of these people who say their mp3 players are better have never used an ipod, so i dont have anything to compare with but i really like my ipod.

The worse version of the mp3 player.
- Ipods are somewhat Expensive
- Itunes cost a dollar per song
- They don't let you transfer songs you bought in itunes to a different media center, that means your songs stay with itunes to stop you from switching
- Idiots by ones that can hold 20,000 songs. Who the hell even knows 1000 songs? And even if you do how are you going to tell me that you listen to everyone of them and like all of them? I love music but still I couldn't fill up 1000 songs without adding some I don't really like.
- They market small mini/nano ipods. Why would you want something so small you could lose/break?
- They come in fruity colors, limegreen, teal, and boring ass colors, black and white
- They break every other month, they just shut off and die
- Its almost impossible to get it fixed, they send it back to you the same
- It scratches mad easy
- The skins for it look like condoms

An mp3 player that's battery is replaceble for 40 bucks, not 250, and only dies after 18 months if you are using it until the battery dies then charging it and using it again as soon as its charged, and so on.

A mp3 player that holds a lot of music. The problem here is that many poeple don't realise the alternative options out there. Many people usually say they feel cheap. OK. Just because it uses SOLID STATE MEMORY WHICH IS LIGHTER THAN ANY HARD DRIVE and uses plastic doesn't make it a piece of shit. Hey did you hear of these new fangled "buttons" that are touch sesitive like the iPod's wheel? Oh Lets not mention the fact that i could get a 2 gig zen or a 1 gig shuffle for the same price and the zen has a speaker!!! One more thing, Creative is THE BIGGEST name in computer sound.

Never in my life have i ran into an aac file. Can your ipod play OGG/Vorbis?
If you need a calendar or notes or know the time constantly and can't ask someone "what time is it?", get a palm pilot.
Wow, you can play solitaire on your iPod when i can play the same dam thing on my CELL PHONE.
Battery life? i don't care because i owned and used a laptop with 2.5 hours of battery life. So anything above that is good.
Ease of use? Anyone with a brain can figure out how to use ANY mp3 player.
I like my music free and I watch video on a larger screen than 2.5 inches of uber suckage but for pictures, the screen is fine.

a portable music player that makes life easier and kicks ass.It holds thousands of songs. you can make your own playlist of any songs you like in the touch of a button. it is very easy to operate and you can transfer your songs from the computer to your ipod in the matter of seconds.

A small mp3 playing device that has pros and cons. Half of the people writing bad reviews probably:
A. Don't have the money to afford an iPod
or
B. Don't use proper care, which is why it breaks so easy (dropping, lending, keeping it in your pocket with your car keys, etc.)
Sure, the iPod doesn't have a mic or a radio, but it does allow users with any music library have their music on the go. An 11 year old can put his library of 50 songs on it, or a 40 year old studio owner can put their library of 10,000 songs on it. It does also get scratched easy, but if your willing to shell out $250 for an ipod, you have the extra $30 to spend on a case for it. iTunes is pretty easy to use, and it is pretty straightforward. They even have audiobooks and (some-what) overpriced movies. But hey, no ones putting a gun to your head telling you to buy them.
I've had my 30 gig video iPod for a year and a half with minor scratches (I have a case) and my stock headphones are plenty loud and haven't broke.
So you can buy a $250 iPod that will easily hold your full library of songs, but may have some drawbacks, or buy a different $250 mp3 player that has a radio and mic, but holds less songs.
