Preps are annoying loud things who shop only at mainstream brand name stores such as hollister,listen only to mainstream music such as justin bieber,one direction,miley cyrus,nicki minaj,and other crappy pop and rap music. Preppy girls usually wear very revealing outfits such as shorts so short that they might as well be under wear,shirts that show their belly and tits (if they even have any) and they usually have fake tans which looks stupid as fuck they also wear more makeup than their actual skin and oftenly bleach their hair blond unless they are naturally blond (but there are brunette preps to). And then the guys usually wear pants lowly to show their boxers thinking it looks gangster but in reality they look retarded,they usually have snap backs and,and usually look like black wannabes. Preps are very narrow minded as they usually hate and bully people such as goths,nerds,emos,metal heads,gays and scene kids for being different than them selves preps only like mainstream due to the fact that they are brain washed by the media,the media says something is cool,prep sees,prep thinks its cool. Preps are also the most annoying,unintelligent and retarded types of people to live and are basically the down fall of society.

Prep kids are the best dressed kids of the schools, we are misinterpreted to be snobby and rich but that is not even close. Preppy kids don't come from very rich families neither than poor families, we come from upper-middle class families. We don't go on road trips around america, we fly, and we usually come from big cities or east coast towns. Preppies wear Lilly, Polo, Banana Republic, Vineyard Vines, Jack Rodgers, J. Crew, Lacoste, Ray Ban, Brooks Brothers, Johnston and Murphy, Vera Bradley, Abercrombie, Hollister, etc. Preppies are known for vacationing in Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard, and New England towns. Preps get good grades such as A's anything lower than an A is bad. If you are a real prep then you should have a luxurious car ex: Volvo, BMW, Mini Cooper, Mercedes, Lexus, etc. and if you're a fake prep you will drive ex: Honda, Toyota, Ford, etc.

The preps commonly shop at Vineyard Vines, Lily Pulitzer, Ralp Lauren, L.L Bean, etc. As the stereo-type, preps are viewed as " snobby ", " wealthy ", and " dumb ". However, there are some people who prefer to buy preppy clothes and be a prep, but can be kind and intelligent. Preps are also viewed as shallow, and have no class. However, again, there are preps with an acception who have a good heart, class, and intelligence. Preps always take action in some sort of sport, commonly football, cheerleading and soccer. When you are preppy, your most likely to be very social and have a high status of popularity. Preps usuallly don't pay attention to the emo,rock, or punk crowd. They as well don't have a taste in anime, rock/metal, or for example TØP or MCR. Preps have a fun, social and happy personality. As well as being popular, or well known in school. Not all preps are snooty or shallow, or have no class.

(This is all I know about preps from what I've heard about them). Preps are people that like pop music, especially Justin Bieber and One Direction. They only like designer clothes, accessories, anything that's pink with a "cute" pattern such as animal print, polka dots, etc. They like anything that sparkles and spend most of their time at cheerleading practice, on their electronics on Twitter cyberbullying people based on their labels and hanging out with their preppy friends. Since most preps have been bullies, they get a lot of hate, of course. Preps hate nerds, geeks, emos, goths but they love other preps and jocks.

Preps are mostly a broad classification of people who in most cases dress in what can be called "trendy" styles. Hollister co. Abercrombie and Fitch and other such lifestyle stores are usually choice for these people. They are mostly and unfairly stereotyped as being rude, stupid and shallow. Some are, but as usuall most people seem to be bitter or jealous towards them, or else they wouldn't speak of them in such low regard. The word prep has been so skewed in defintiion interpretation that it has mainly been associated with wealthy upper class teens and adults. Though untrue these people are mosty often unfairly judged. By other apparently bitter individuals of an "opposing stereotype" this entire practice is of course ludicrous for most people of a conventional or post conventional level of thinking, because who care what they are wearing, how are really they acting?

Look that kid is going into Abercrombie and fitch he must be a "prep" and a big dick.

It is a common misconception that "prep's" are girls who are sluts and obnoxious, and boys who are self centered assholes.
You are mistaken. These are adjectives describing one's personality, and being considered a prep has nothing to do with personality, but lifestyle. Anyone could be described as above, but a prep is one who..
1. attends a private, preparatory school. These schools most commonly prepare their students for an Ivy League college and have a very good reputation.
2. Although a prep could live anywhere, they are most commonly found on the East Coast, in states such as Maine and Maryland.
3. Prep's are active in sports. They usually play lacrosse, squash, rugby, or field hockey, or are members of a crew team.
4. Prep's usually come from a well bred, old money family. They live in houses and stay in vacation houses that have been passed down through their family. Common vacation spots are Martha's Vineyard, Bethany Beach, and Cape Cod.
5. Dress: Polos, boat shoes (top siders), loafers, grosgrain ribbon sandals, usually expensive jeans, khakis, sun dresses, monogrammed jewelry, and pearls. Usually dress conservatively. Brands include: Lilly Pulitzer, Ralph Lauren, J. Crew, Brooks Brothers, etc. Girls and boys do not usually wear designer items, except for jeans, although their clothes may cost just as much. Preps love hand-me-downs, thrift shop excursions, and bright colors.
6. Preps are known for having a very active social life, and as long as they keep it private and it doesn't affect their school life, mommy and daddy don't usually care. They are known for going to events such as horse races and field parties.
Remember that preppy is a lifestyle, not a way to describe one's personality.
