Feminism

The belief that women and men are equal, and the movement that has arisen to support that idea. Feminism can generally be divided into three periods in the United States:
First Wave- 1800's-1920's. The passage of the 19th Ammendment is commonly seen as the culminating event of this phase.
Second Wave- 1950's-1980's.This is often seen as the high point of the Women's Movement in the US. The failure of the Equal Rights Ammendment's passage is seen as the endpoint of this period.
Third Wave- 1990's-present. Often seen as a more theoretically-driven phase, sometimes incorrectly referred to as post-feminism.
Thanks to feminism, women now have the right to vote, the right to control their own property and bodies, and the right to support themselves by working outside the home.

Just another ism to try and destroy the white mans world, because white women hate thier men, and dont want to be with or supported by them anymore. Feminism

There a lot of people that say that Feminism is the belief that women are better than men. This is not true. It is actually the belief that men and women are equal and should both be treated as people, not objects. The reason it is called Feminism is that when it first started, women weren't treated equally and treated as their husband's property. Often people think that when women (and men!) get angry at crude jokes, they are just being irrational. They have every right to be offended as it can be seen a very disgusting and rude.
Example 1

Girl: I am part of the Feminism movement
Guy: So you hate men
Girl: No, I just believe that men and women are equal

Example 2

Guy: Damn check out the ass on that *looking at pretty girl*
Girl: I'm a person, not an object

Feminism

The advocacy of women's rights on the basis of the equality of the sexes.
True feminists treat men, women and gender non-conforming people as equal. They respect all people.

Anyone can be a feminist, regardless of gender.

“Some people ask: “Why the word feminist? Why not just say you are a believer in human rights, or something like that?” Because that would be dishonest. Feminism is, of course, part of human rights in general—but to choose to use the vague expression human rights is to deny the specific and particular problem of gender. It would be a way of pretending that it was not women who have, for centuries, been excluded. It would be a way of denying that the problem of gender targets women.”

― Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
"Why do we need feminism?"
"Because there are still people telling women that their only role in life is to get married and have kids.”
"What's wrong with that?"
"Women should get to choose what they want to do in life. There is nothing wrong with getting married and having kids if that's what you want. There is something wrong with being forced into doing those things. Forcing people to do something is oppression."
