Pot Calling the Kettle Black

An expression that is said when one accuses another person of that which they are equally guilty of.

Many years ago, people used to cook over an open flame using copper kettles and iron pots. The copper kettles were usually polished after every use whereas the iron pots were not and remained blackened from the soot from previous cookings. Well someone got the idea that if the iron pot were alive and it looked at a nearby copper kettle, it would see a black image. The iron pot believes it sees the image of the copper kettle when in reality, because the copper kettle was polished, what the iron pot was seeing was a reflection of itself. This symbolic phrase became associated with hypocrisy. An accuser blames someone else for having a fault when the accuser has the same fault.

Joe accuses Mark for not keeping his house clean when in reality, Joe has a messy house. Therefore, Joe is guilty of "the pot calling the kettle black".

reality challenged

(adj.) being in a state in which one is utterly and completely unable to distinguish fact from fiction, and is thus obviously and undeniably full of shit.

Most politicians are reality challenged. So are a number of attorneys, as well as most people living in Hollywood.

To use it in a sentence: "That guy is SO reality challenged... that he can't even tell shit from Shinola!"

Mortally Challenged

The Demons of Doom Eternal are referred to as "Mortally Challenged". Its a silly joke in the game. A few Liberals are upset about this and they claim that the game equates Demons with Immigrants. Which is not true.

cold calling

the process of approaching prospective customers or clients, typically via telephone, who were not expecting such an interaction. The word "cold" is sometimes thought of as being used because the person receiving the call is not expecting a call or has not specifically asked to be contacted by a sales person. It is pretty much another word of telemarketing

I hate when those people from overseas are cold calling me to sell me insurance that I already have.

Chalino Sanchez

Chalino Sanchez was a Mexican singer who gained popularity in California in the early 1990's for his controversial lyrics. He is considered the father of 'corridos'(music genre) and his career has inspired others to follow his legacy. His life is similar to that of the late Tupac Shakur in many aspects. As Tupac, Chalino was also shot prior to his death and they are both considered icons of their music genre. His music is very popular between the Mexican-American culture and various tributes have emerged after his death. He is also known for been the father of the late Adan Sanchez which was also another young corrido singer who died in 2004. RIP Chalino S.& Adan S.
