A zoomers ransom

Derivative of "a king's ransom".

A zoomer's ransom is an amount of money which surpasses the normal value of an object due to the perceived value by a zoomer.

The correct value is unknown to a zoomer due to not having an accurate historical context because of their age. A Millennial might knows that the "Duck Hunt Super Mario" for NES is worthless due to experience (seeing several copies in pawn shops for a penny circa 2003 for example) a Zoomer thinks this item is valuable and is willing to pay a Zoomer's ransom for it (for example $50). Their perception is created by Retro Gaming YouTubers and other con artists (also known as reseller scum).

"I could get a zoomer's ransom for that damaged copy of Majora's Mask"

"Oh no, AVGN just did another video about the Dreamcast. It's going to cost a Zoomer's ransom for one now!"

"I paid a zoomers ransom for this copy of Contra on NES. This shouldn't have be more than $10!"

Churchie Zoomers

A mysterious schoolboy story which no one actually knows the legitimacy of. It dates back to approximately 1982 when a student of Churchie (a boys school in Brisbane), apparently raped a dog named Zoomers. This has given students of churchie the nickname “zoomers” and get shit hung on them for it. It may be the most notorious story of private boys schools in Australia. This also leads to barking towards churchie students and a “ZZZZOOOOOM” when they are ran past.

Zoomer

Refers to members of Generation Z and is a play on the term "Boomer," which refers to members of the Baby Boomer generation. The term Zoomer is also in reference to the fast-paced upbringings members of Generation Z are characterized to have due to the fast advances in technology and culture that has been happening around them as a result of the interconnectivity of the American and Global populations because of the ubiquity of internet-connected smart phones and social media.

It is also used to generally mock the "Ok Boomer" meme, as well as mocking the low attention spans of Gen Z, which can associate them with the word 'Zoomer.'
