Someone who professes to know a lot about something although they have no real-world qualifications. Used most often in regards to politics. It may be a well-schooled person, but one who has no real-world experience. I don't know why this is on UrbanDictionary since it's already in Webster's.

A term made up by intellectuals to label thier immense knowledge of a subject. Really, its just another word used by intellectuals so they can massage thier ego, among other things, in a group setting.
