short for Tragic State of Affairs, a simple acronym for a broad spectrum of events, people, or places. Anything that could be tragic, can be defined as a TSOA.

Chick 1: "OMG, I just dropped my phone in the toilet!"

Chick 2: "TSOA, my friend, TSOA."

or:

Dude 1: "Did you just see that girl give that guy head?"

Dude 2: "YES! TSOA!"
