Squalor Folk

Rock/rap band from the Philadelphia suburb of Upper Darby. An ethnic group, consisting of 4 black guys, and a Puerto Rican/Indian(yes hes 1/2 and 1/2). Band members play multiple instruments, with original songs such as "Serenity", and "Eazy Mellow". Using a combination of sounds, Squalor Folk has a sound like Killswitch Engage but with a Hip-Hop twist.

"Yo, that Squalor Folk show is coming up soon, you hittin that jawn up?"

"I heard Squalor Folk was performing at Upper Darby High's talent show. They probably will tear it up."

As a web developer, I was a ashamed to find out my mom was living in digital squalor with no broadband connection to her house. It makes visiting at Christmas really suck.

A word derived from a mixture of the words squalor and scholar. In practical use, it is used to throw off the recipient and confuse them as to whether they are being called a scholar (someone of high education) or a squalor (someone of extreme dirtiness and poverty).

Squalor Flavor

An acquired taste of shittiness, primarily in the fast food realm. Similar to the taste of umami, but instead of rich sumptuous flavors there's an underlying hatred of the minimum wage job, the food chain, and your desperation as the customer... and a lotta grease. It's the part of a White Castles or an Arby's sandwich that you can't define, but elevates it to euphoric nostalgia of a simpler time in your life.

The breakfast burritos at Sonic are good in a squalor flavor kinda way. The individual ingredients themselves are shitty, but together there's nothing else like it.
