Pulling an evan

When you have an object or some sort of item that is very special to you and holds not only real-world value, but special value to you (like a rare trading card, etc.) And a friend or somebody you know purchases the item you have only because they don't want people to praise you for having that thing, essentially trying to 1-up the other person. This is different from purchasing something once because what the other person has looks and seems cool to you.

Guy 1: whenever I get a new MTG card, Guy 3 gets exactly whatever I get after I show him!

Guy 2: seems sus, maybe he's pulling an evan

The act in which a boy leaves you all alone to have fun with his friends then complains when you stop talking to him. What he doesn't know, is that you secretly are head over heels in love with him.

Meagan: wow, i'm sorry. Wait so you lvoe himm?
