(verb): to counter a person, proposition, or argument, à la Channel 4 journalist Cathy Newman, by misrepresenting it, specifically with the formula "So what you're saying is..." followed by the misrepresentation.
When people find themselves unable to respond to a claim with a cogent objection, sometimes they will Newmanize their opponents instead.
