“Yankee Cornbread” with sugar mixed. True Cornbread such as served the American South is sugar-free. Northern folks often add sugar to their Jiffy Mix.

“I don’t want that sweet Johnnycake. Give me some unsweetened corn bread with my Red Beans and Rice.”
