Criddler

A criddler; pronounced “Krid-L-er” is a person, that often times uses drugs (but there are natural born criddlers) that goes through stuff. Could be their own stuff, could be someone else’s, you just never know.

Criddling; used as a verb, means to riffle through things. Often, a person will criddle through their whole purse/bag while looking for one TINY insignificant item, but half way through they forgot what is was.

A criddler is NOT ALWAYS A THIEF! And a thief is not always a criddler.

An addict may criddle through your car if it is unlocked, in search of something valuable. Or criddle through a free pile on the street corner.

So long definition, short: A criddler is someone who will go through things, where ever they are, who’s ever they are, not caring if they have the entire contents of their purse dumped on the sidewalk.
Look at that girl over there, criddling through her purse.”

Or

“Jamie came to my house last week and criddled through my whole junk drawer!

Yep, Jamie is a criddler, been that way since she was a kid.”

To tweak; the act of criddling
1. To act as a criddler would; meaning to barely count as a human being while existing in your own thoughts/world/frame of reality.
2. To rummage aimlessly through junk (usually a first time aquaintence, or complete stranger) and pull out items (mostly useless) that catch your eyes because you can use them/they're what you've been looking for all along/you think it's cool/it's just what you need to finally finish a long undone project.

3. To sit in a corner, empty/separate room, or even the other end of a couch from others, spread out your belongings (i.e. markers, electronic parts, notebooks, bag contents to be reorganised) and perform a meaningless, solitary, time consuming project, task, or activity while attempting to pay attention to and carry on one or more conversations; all in an effort to remain social.

4. Usually any act done under the influence of methamphetamine; to the point of being so tweaked you can't sit still, sleep, or remain focused for more than one or two hours that feel like twenty minutes.
5. To pilfer an item or items from someone while high; honestly believing they won't miss it/it's junk/it's worthless/they won't notice it's gone for a few days.
6. To perform/The act of criddlery at the present time
7. To act on a criddlerific manner/fashion;
"I'm going to Mark's to tweak and criddle his old shed."

"Damn it Mikey; who said you could criddle my junk closet?!"

"Okay look I know it was you going through my shit, what did you criddle into your pockets?"

"I'm going to sit and criddle my bugout bag; it's so unorganised!"
