conquering the worm

A phrase originating from the book "Dune" by Frank Herbert. The Phrase also appears in the song "Dragula" by Rob Zombie. It means to overcome an obstacle that seems impossible or daunting to accomplish. It can be used to describe a personal goal for someone or a daunting task that needs to get accomplished.
-I finished the marathon, I conquered the worm.

-Climbing Mount Everest truly is conquering the worm.

-He passed his bar exams, way to conquer the worm.
