modernism

A state in which irony becomes existentially externalized; usually through the introduction of new technology which is a skeuomorph of prior technology e.g. factories replacing farms in the era of late 1880's industrialization.
Modernism shifted parody from the literary to the existential; and heavily foreboded the existential self-parody of postmodernism.

duty-aesthetic

Desire or self-consciousness as outside of man's control.

Fatalistic desire.
Borrowing from Schopenhaur, duty-aesthetic argues that man has the power-to-desire and the desire-to-will but he does not have the power to will.

That is, will is a subset of desire.

Duty-aesthetic argues that ironically man lacks power over the power-to-desire (self-power) because power is something man can have not something man can be.

hauntology

Hauntology is the idea that a discrete quality is mutually inclusive with an arbitrary quality in ultranihilism, but an arbitrary quality is mutually exclusive with respect to a subjective quality.

A functional dialectic of mutual exclusivity and one-to-one inclusivity.
Discreteness has a mutually exclusive relationship with hardness; but hardness has a one-to-one inclusive relationship with discreteness.

Hauntology introduces the concept of 1-to-1 pairing in retrospect between subjective and arbitrary qualities.

hypersubjective

So false as to be true (functional).

Functionally semiotic.
In the hypersubjective state functionality (performativism) is the only truth.

metamodernism

Convergence between symbol and irony (time). As opposed to convergence between function and irony (form) in Hypermodernism and existentialism and irony (nihilism) in Postmodernism.
In metamodernism the infinity symbol literally resembles linear time moving through a cyclical time paradigm--it is no mere representation of a concept.

emergent nihilism

A contrapositive form of nihilism in which the momentum of desire replaces the momentum of will.

A Schopenhauerian nihilism in which desire emerges as aesthetic.

Meta-nihilism.
Emergent nihilism replaces Nietzsche's paradigm of effection with Schopenhauer's paradigm of emergence.

Human beings observe this emergence as the panagram of colors.
