Originating in New York in the 80-90s, a face card is a $100 dollar bill, or the highest note/bill possible in any country.
This is a reference to playing cards due to the cards with faces being the most valuable.

The term gained popularity after Big L's song Ebonics was released.

Face card season

Face card season refers to the time when there's colder weather. During the cold weather, people are more likely to wear thicker layers and more jackets. Revealing clothes are not worn, so you can't really see others' bodies. This means when judged or being looked at by others, a person's facial appearance is the only thing that can be judged, not their body figure included.

Your looks better be valid or else you're not pulling this face card season.

Face card is when someone is both subjectively and objectively beautiful. Everyone can be subjectively beautiful and everyone has at least one person who will match with them in the world and finds them subjectively beautiful. But face card is when someone is both subjectively and objectively beautiful.
