A Muslim Dynasty of the mid-seventh century. The Umayyad Caliphate ruled the Islamic Empire from 661 AD. In 750 AD, they were overthrown by the Abbasid Caliphs but then re-established themselves in the Iberian Peninsula from 756 AD until 1031 AD. They were great patrons of art and intellect and contributed considerably to the Islamic Golden Age.

Umayyad Dynasty

The caliphs resident in Damascus from 661 to 750 CE.

The Umayyad Dynasty was the first Muslim dynasty. The Umayyad house was one of the major clans of the Quraysh tribe. Technically, Uthman, the third "Righteous Caliph", was the first Umayyad caliph. During his tenure (644-655), he appointed members of his clan to various posts; in particular, Muawiya b. Abi Sufyan was given the governorship of Syria. Upon the accession of Ali to the caliphate, Muawiya refused to pay him allegience, and in 658 the Syrians acknowledged Muawiya as caliph. That same year he gained control of Egypt; following Ali's death in 661, he subdued Iraq and then formally established himself as caliph. The first line of Umayyads were the Sufyanids (descendants of Abu Sufyan) who ruled from 661- 684. Under Muawiya (661-680) the capital of the Muslim empire was transferred to Damascus. He is credited with raising a highly-trained army of Syrian soldiers which was used to expand Muslim authority east into Khorasan and west into North Africa. Muawiya also led excursions into Anatolia beginning in 672 which culminated in an unsuccessful three-year seige of Constantinople (674-677). He retained the administrative structures left by the Byzantines and Persians but consolidated his authority by appointing kinsmen to key posts. Before his death, Muawiya secured allegiance to his son, Yazid, thus introducing dynastic succession to Muslim rule.

Umniyah is a very loyal and kind person, she may be difficult at times but you just have to deal with it because she’s worth the struggle. Umniyah is GORGEOUS Jesus I can’t take my eyes off of her!!! I just wanna stare at her alllll day. Umniyah has an amazing body, like bodyodyodyodyody all the way. She can be stubborn and weird. Shes definitely not the loud person but Umniyah is smart. She can be a detective if she wants to be. Doesn’t give one fuck two fuck red fuck blue fuck about anything in the world. BEST SENSE OF STYLE IN THE WORLD HANDSSSSS DOWN. Her reactions to things are mostly “oh okay” and “sick” because that’s just what shes like. You have to accept it. BEST WRITER IN THE WORLD. Creative. Intimidating at first but it’ll get better. When she has a best friend. She’ll make sure that it’s HER best friend and no one else gets to have her. Minimalist so she likes the color black, grey, or red. She can be a bitch when she wants to be a bitch. If she wants to make you jealous she’ll make you jealous alright. And not just jealous she’ll make u regret life. She plays around with peoples emotions for entertainment. Likes seeing pain/sadness. All this but shes as short as a tree stump. Don’t worry the thick thighs and big boobiez make up for it.
