Literally meaning "Depression". The term was incepted as a replacement for the actual name of the disease by those wishing to identify that they have itgffee for purposes such as validity, perspective, background, etc. while attempting to avoid some of the negative connotations that come along with it.

Also having to do with the "deep" feelings of depression one might feel with the disease.

Etymology: DEEP-ression
