Thanksism

A "thank you" given to someone for a favor or action that has not yet taken place and never ends up materializing.
You have already thanked them for something they did not really do. It is not fair and can be taken back at any moment.

Yesterday my wife said she was going to give me a message when we got home from work so I said "thanks, I really appreciate that". We got home, she ate dinner and went to bed with no message yet had already received her thanksism. I woke her up and took it back.

Thankless Job

A bottom rung of society shit job, little pay, and you get no respect for doing it, but someone has to do it, and it sucks ass when it's you.

"Steve has such a shitty job as a garbage man."

thanksmas

the holiday that begins around halloween, and continues on till the end of the year. -it is made up of two phases, the first phase is devoted to more earthly pursuits, while the second revolves around the more spiritual. the second phase now has morphed from worship of a deity and the spiritual, to worship of currency and earthly goods.

when i hear sleigh bells in mid-october and the advertisers are salivating. i know its' time to celebrate the glory that is thanksmas!

Thankless-Thursday

Thanksgiving and walmart expects you to leave the turkey on the table to go stand in line for the tv your kid wants from Santa!

Man, forget black Friday... I just stood in line for 4 hours at Walmart for Thankless-Thursday to buy a tv because walmart decided I shouldn't eat my turkey! Happy Thanksgiving to me!

Thanksmas

The transitionary period right after Thanksgiving before full blown Christmas season starts again. The typical start date is the Friday after Thanksgiving the start time will usually coincide with stores opening time for Black Friday sales. Normally ends when the turkey leftovers are gone, Or the last visiting in-laws or extended members have left, whichever comes first.

Kevin is so happy that Thanksmas is over; He doesn't have to share the pull out sofa bed with his sister now that Uncle John and Aunt Sue have gone back home.
