While hiding your true identity, you seek to convert a group of people to believe in your ideology. This can be done in forms of jokes, desensitizing people to the point where they wouldn't mind who you really are.
This comes from far right/left communities who float around Reddit, 4chan, and other internet forums. These people try to convince others into believing in their political ideologies. They do this in the form of jokes, slowly ramping them up over time until they are full blown statements of what they believe in, and by that point nobody speaks against it; you know, cause it's just a "joke".
