Nobuo Uematsu, who has been working at Square (SquareEnix) for nearly twenty years, is the composer behind the music from Final Fantasies 1 - 9. He also composed parts of the Saga series soundtrack, some of the Chrono Trigger music (though Yasunori Mitsuda did most of it), and a couple of the tracks in FFX.
He now has his own band, the Black Mages, who perform rock arrangements of Uematsu's music. Also, www.ocremix.org and various videogame remix projects have done arrangements of his work.

As one of the three Great Warlords of the time, he defeated every enemy he encountered, defeating much larger armies than his own, forcing other daimyo and shogun to step down and surrender. He was well on his way to conquering all of Japan until he was Betrayed by one of his generals, Akechi Mitsuhide(that asshole), forced to commit Seppuku at the Honnoji-in temple becoming forever known as "The Great Honnoji Incident." His legacy was carried on by his closest friend and general Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and finished by a once hostage of his Ieyasu Tokugawa having fully unified Japan under his rule for centuries. Nobunaga is still greatly celebrated today having paved the way to the single country of japan we known today. Widely known, and extremely popular hes depicted in many works of fiction and media, from books, to movies, to anime, to video games. Probably more than will smith. Often depicted as a demon,or villain as well as a hero in other works, his goal has always been to conquer both the heavens and earth as the "Dai Roku Tenma" - the 6Th Demon King of heaven.

A friend of his asked him if he'ld like to work for him, his friend was the owner of Square, creator of final fantasy. So, Nobuo made music for the First ever FF. He's also worked for nintendo, and for Oh! My goddess the movie. His greatest peices have been re-mixed many many times and kick ass. He now owns a band called the black mages with a few friends of his. He also does a loaaaaaaad of concerts, all over the world which get sold out. He is teh grand daddy of music.
Final Fantasy the black mages owns you many times over. The song, "Prelude" from FF1 still owns even though it's so old. Age dosn't matter, Nobuo's still as good as ever.
