Usage of the word "noreen" reportedly arises due to the shocking news of a Malaysian star Noreen Iman where she mistakenly ate pork belly sandwich in London as a result of her own ignorance upon checking the ingredients of the sandwich. Hence, people begin to equate her to pigs and become synonymous to her name.
