Ethans, more commonly known as Ethaners, are the social outcasts of the world. They thrive off cheap attention, and live exclusively on the Internet, more specifically, Discord. Ethaners exist all over the place, and have common roots in websites such as 9gag.com, iFunny.co, and Reddit.com. Spotting an Ethaner is a rather easy task: upon joining a server, they will post unfunny .mp4s or repeat an extremely dead and unfunny meme in chat (for example: AMOGUS, Deez Nuts, Sussy Baka!!!111!!!). Among other things, Ethaners often crave human validation, and will relentlessly tag/ping as many people in chat as possible, as to draw their attention to him. They are often immediately cast out of communities, but if they're allowed to stay, they will generally find a way to victimize themselves (Everyone hates me! No one likes me!).

While Ethaners are generally defined as "unfunny nobodies", they can also be defined as "irrelevanters"; those whom no one knows, nor cares about, and who generally try to establish their relevance in retarded ways (most of which never work).
