A phrase used to tell someone that they are not helping with a situation, but rather making it worse.
"Dad, you know I'm starting my senior year in high school, right? Well...It's nerve-wracking."
"Oh, don't worry, son. When you're out of there, you won't have to go back! And you'll get to move out and-"
"DAD, YOU'RE NOT MAKING THIS EASIER!"
"...Oh, I see...Yes, being on your own can be more stressful than even your worst days at school. To be honest, it's a much harder blow to your mom and I than you think, watching the last bird fly the nest...But I'll always be here for you until the day I die. Even if I'm 100 years old and in my deathbed, I will stay with you until my time is up. Never forget that, son, no matter how old you get."

Hym "Because it's easier for them to explain away a child murder than it is for them to explain what's happening here to me. They'll just claim some kind of nebulous craziness. And the world will keep turning you'll have nothing. I'll be in prison or dead. No one gains anything. I don't value your kids life. I don't lose anything. I REFUSE to lose anything. They'll pretend they couldn't have stopped it. You'll spend the rest of your life know otherwise. This is destroying people's lives. They likely aren't even aware of what's happening. If it succeeds in destroying my life I will guarantee that I'm not the only one who suffers for it. And, frankly, it just doesn't have be you."
