After being exiled from Sinope for messing with coins, he fucked off and decided to be a bum who lived with nature and owned no materials (he threw away his one possession: a bowl, after seeing a kid cup and drink water with his hands); a philosophy (or lifestyle, perhaps) that became known as Cynicism.
