coastie

A word used by people from Madison, Wisconsin to describe people that dress/speak/act differently that make them feel inferior to people from either coast of the USA. People from the coast dress differently, act differently and speak differently, but are not superior to any other part of the USA, especially Wisconsin. The use of this word inherently illustrates how people from Wisconsin feel about themselves - namely, that they need to feel better by projecting their self hatred on "coasties"

The people that give UW-Madison its flavor. Coasties are wrongfully discriminated against by much of the in-state student body. However its only because (for the most part) they party harder, drink more, fuck more, and smoke more weed than most people from Wisconsin. It's okay to be jealous, we know how to have a good time. Don't hate.

Any individual that has their main residence along a coast in very small coastal towns. Coasties are similar to carnies but with an immobile residence.

Dude these coasties are really giving me the creeps. Let's head back inland.

Coastie

Girls who can be found at pretty much any college campus specifically, Michigan State University, who typically wears the standard coastie unifom: leggings, v-neck tee, north face denali jacket, ginat sunglasses, and ugg or emu boots.

These girls are proficient in multi-tasking, especially on their blackberry or iphone.

Coasties seem to always be having some sort of Starbucks, Beaner's, Sparty's coffe, or a travel mug in hand.

"Look at that coastie over there - why is she wearing shorts and flip flops with a fleece?"

Coastie

Used to describe people form the central coast area of Australia. This being the stretch of coast between Sydney and the slums of Newcastle.
Coasties are often surfer's, and enjoy some of the best beaches in australia.
Coasties are often envied by other people from region's, especially those from newcastle, who are often reffered to as scummer's or bogan's.

Coastie

A member of the enlisted United States Coast Guard and/or their spouce as well as their immediate family. It is an informal term primarily used within the Coast Gaurd community by active duty military and their spouces. The term does not only refer to the "Coast" in "Coast Guard" but refers to the act of transferring and being relocated to stations along coastal areas, as in living or "coasting" coast to coast.

He/she's a coastie - they're coasties - a fellow coastie. We're a coastie family. It's a coastie thing. Only coasties would understand.

Coastie bump

A Coastie bump is the art of sniffing your MDMA through your nostrils, as opposed to the orthodox method of swallowing in cap form or stirred through your drink. The bump can be done using a spoon, straw or other utensil but more traditionally is done on the base of your thumb in a clenched fist. A Coastie bump is best served when an instant boost in dancing power and happiness is needed mid-rave.
