Zoom Clowning

The bizarre and rather undignified habit of signaling to people on video calls that you're paying attention by way of exaggerated and increasingly elaborate facial expressions and gestures.

This includes, but is not limited to: nodding vigorously to show agreement; tossing one's head back and clapping one's raised hands to demonstrate humorous appreciation; pooching out one's lower lip to indicate sadness; crowding the screen and letting one's jaw drop open to signal surprise; grimacing like a gargoyle to convey sympathy.

"Did you really think what Bill said on the call today was funny, or were you just Zoom Clowning?"

"Totally Zoom Clowning. Bill hasn't told a decent joke since 'Nam."

Clowned: - or Clowning: Also known as "To Clown" and "The Clowning" - To make fun of, to make an absolute fool of, or to school someones dumb ass.

"Remember that time you totally bought Larry Smith's house from the bank, which he lost to the bank after remortgaging it and spending all the money on booze... the house he said you could never set foot in again... MAN YOU TOTALLY CLOWNED YOUR DAD'S DUMB ASS!!"

ClownMonger

Lonely internet chat site user, never brave enough to use its usual user name; commonly found trying to get a reaction by flooding sites with unfunny and often rude, aggressive behaviour.

Hates to be ignored; must always be the centre of attention, usually as a result of being ignored as a child by its now deceased Mother.

Medication and electro-therapy are recommended treatments. In severe cases a gun to the head may be the preferred option.

clownsourcing

the act of outsourcing tasks, traditionally performed by an employee or contractor, to an undefined, large group of clowns, through an open call.

clownsourcing depends essentially on the fact that because it is an open call to an undefined group of people, it gathers those who are least fit to perform tasks, unable solve complex problems and contribute with the most idiotic ideas.

I used clownsourcing to save on software development. I got back some code that could only have been developed by folks wearing floppy shoes and big red noses. The code even had a "do you want fries with that?" subroutine. Never underestimate the wisdom of the clown.
