A slang word commonly used to label people whose religious and moral beliefs do not conform with popular views of homosexuality. The word implies that the person's opposition to homosexuality stems from ignorance and fear.

Supporter of Homosexuality: People who support the federal marriage amendment are just homophobes.

In competitive video gaming, the concept of one or more members of a team using homosexuality, whether genuine or under false pretenses, to psychologically throw off their opponents game.

Player: "Hey sexy, you got a myspace?"
Opponent: "Dude, I have a wife!"
Player: "She doesn't have to know about us!"

Homophobic Triangle

When 3 (or more) friends sit equidistantly from each other in a hot tub (forming a triangle), to not appear gay. Strangers coming into the hot tub forces the three to come in closer together.

Person 1: I just saw Darren, Rob, and Mark together in the hot tub.

Person 2: Are they gay?

Person 1: No, they formed the homophobic triangle.

Person 2: Oh, thats cool then.

Homophobic

Dislike, fear, hatred, prejudice and/or disapproval of gays and/or homosexuality, often (but not always) for religious reasons or because of insecurity about one's sexual orientation.

Many people who suffer from homophobia do not realize it and even deny it. Others will kill gays or make false accusations about them..

homophony: to pretend to be a homosexual with the intent of using the said sexual state and its attraction to women for 'friendly pueposes' to therefore gain the trust of many attractive women and then to 'have ones way with them' ahem...as it were...no...it's not like i've ever done it!

homophobe

n. One who experiences an irrational reaction of panic, revulsion, fear or anger when confronted with the idea of homosexuality. This often manifests as an aggressive obsession to marginalize, deny, disenfranchise or denigrate gay/lesbian people, in the effort to distance one's self from the source of one's emotional distress. Homophobia is often thought to be rooted in an intense fear that one is also capable of experiencing unwanted homosexual attraction, or in unease over being confronted with one's own sexual doubt and insecurity.

A cultural environment that is tolerant of the homophobe leads to a civic environment that establishes a second-class status for gay and lesbian citizens.
