Con-Textual Attribution Error

The tendency to mistake the superficial excitement derived from receiving text messages for the excitement bourne out of genuine chemistry between you and your text-happy new friend, especially prevalent in the budding stages of romance when a high degree of unfamiliarity is present between said parties. In the alternate context of an in-person or phone conversation, the same conversation would not be nearly as exciting.

It's no wonder your romances always crash so hard after you finally get to know the person, all the excitement between you is nothing more than the anticipation and reception of text messages. It's classic Con-Textual Attribution Error. Similar to the excitement and subsequent letdown of Christmas.

Con-Track

When a band/label release a song which is not representative of the album it is from.

Guy: "hey dude did you hear the new Fictus track on the radio? it's awesome, i'm gonna go buy the album right now!"

Me: "don't bother, it's a Con-Track, the rest of the album is crap and sounds nothing like it"

Guy: "oh. that's extremely disappointing"

Me: "indeed"

A label given to someone who tries to cheat or rob others or the authorities during the coronavirus pandemic—for instance, a bogus law enforcer who catches others who don’t wear a mask, then expects to be bribed so that the victims could avoid paying a hefty fine or being sent to jail.

Thousands of con-19s have emerged from all corners of the globe to prey on the gullible and the superstitious folks.
