The period of time that elapses while an ipod owner looks for his/her ipod, hooks it into the car, plays a song, and then finally moves their car.

Driver 1: Dude, where's Kate? I thought she was right behind us.

Passenger 1: She probably is in the middle of her Pod Pause.

Powerful pause

A long period of silence or confused babble in response to a simple question. Done to allow the person to come up with some kind of desperate, plausible response.

Denoting that the Republican presidential candidate has no clue how to answer the question except to use one of the Republican's stock phrases like "President Obama did it wrong." Also known as brain fart, senior moment, Santorum Stumble, Michele Melt-down, Gingrich Gaffe, Mitt Muddle, a Rick Rest-period, etc.

When the Herminator got asked about his possible inappropriate sexual behavior with former female staffers in the National restaurant Association, he got really quiet for a long time. Then he said, "I thought they wanted me to hold the pepperoni!" Later he called that a "powerful pause."

Google Pause

The (often awkward) break in an online conversation that occurs after someone references and/or asks something which you have no idea about. The break lasts as long as it takes you to google search the aforementioned 'something' and (usually) click on the wikipedia article for it and skim-read the first paragraph or so. After the break, you proceed to pretend there was no break in the conversation, and you attempt to pass your newfound knowledge off as something you've known for ages.

Person A: Hey man, don't you love the song shutterbug?
Person B: (Bullshitting) Yeah man totally!
Person A: Who's it by again?
-Google Pause-
Person B: Uhhhhh Big Boi obviously! How could you not know that.....

Meno-pause

A relapse of the brain from reading a mindless, pointless piece by Plato.
When one forgets entirely what they were doing from reading a redundant dialogue by Plato that does not give any definitive answer to the question asked in the piece.

I was sitting in Honors 111 as we discussed "Meno" by Plato. I was next to Camille and my mind went absolutely blank and I had no idea what happened for the last 10 minutes. I looked over to see her doodling a depiction of my shoe. She must be suffering from Meno-pause like I am.
