Stephen Colbert Syndrome

The process of transitioning from a satiric depiction of a thing to the very thing you once parodied. Named after Stephen Colbert, who originally played the character right wing ideologue named "Stephen Colbert", who told yo what to think. Over time, he has become the Blue State equivalent of his earlier "Stephen Colbert" character. He has come full circle.

You know how originally she mocked bad weepy singer-songwriters? Now she takes herself seriously and has misses her own joke. Stephen Colbert Syndrome!

Colby

An old English name with even older Nordic roots. It's derived from the Old Norse word "Kolbyr", which means "cold settlement". Also a kind of cheese, but don't bother joking about it with someone named Colby. I guarantee you they've already heard it.

You might not want to name your kid this if you live in the southern U.S. People there have a habit of saying "Koby" instead, and it might drive them nuts.

A lot of these definitions for "Colby" are obviously written by some guy who's really insecure about the size of his member.

Cobs

The creature which creates cob-webs. Commonly mistaken as spiders; Cobs are a similar creature to the spider, ( a cousin to the spider if you will). Spider webs and cob webs are very commonly mistaken for one-another by the vast majority of the population because of close similarity. Cobs are also vary rare, due to environmental changes with in the past 30-40 years; one may hear an elderly person (an individual possibly over the age of 60-65) refer to spider webs as cob webs due to Cobs were more populous during the early 20th century and lurking in many tool sheds, garages, and basements across the country.

Homeowner: "There is nothing but spider webs in the attic, I think my house is infested with spiders."

Orkin Man: "Mrs, those aren't spider webs; those are surely cob-webs. Your house is infested with nearly extinct Cobs."
