Carpomangulation

Repeatedly running back & forth over something with your vacuum cleaner (such as a piece of string, etc...) that your vacuum will not pick up.
Mangling your carpet by repeatedly going back & forth in one spot to vacuum up a small piece of something that won't vacuum up!

I ruined my carpet by carpomangulation! Damned feather wouldn't vacuum up, now there's a bare spot!
