nations vocalist

Nations Nation's Vocalist is the one and only Kim Seokjin aka JIN from the globally famous boygroup BTS (Bangtan Boys). He has a wide vocal range, can belt notes with such ease it makes you think if he is a music student. He is also known as Mariah Carey's son.
Did you listen to our Nations Vocalist? He ate CDs for breakfast again!

vocabulary hijacking

Choosing a word because it evokes a specific emotion rather than because it is accurate.
After 9/11 the word "terrorism" became a much more emotional term for Americans than before, when it was equally deplorable yet much more theoretical in most people's minds (i.e. something that happens elsewhere). Consequently, politically active people engaged in vocabulary hijacking by applying the term "terrorist" to their opponent's activities (e.g. environmental "terrorists", government-sponsored "terrorists", anti-choice "terrorists").

prison vocabulary

A vocabulary that includes obscure polysyllabic words that are often used incorrectly and/or out of their proper context. Specifically with people who don’t have the elloquence or articulate speech to match it.
Named so, because it was first observed with Mike Tyson after he finished a prison sentence for rape. One could imagine him sitting in his jail cell with nothing to do but read his dictionary.
From Tv: Lennox Lewis, I'm coming for you man. My style is impetuous. My defense is impregnable, and I'm just ferocious. I want your heart. I want to eat his children. Praise be to Allah!"

Martha: Did he just use the words impetuous and Impregnable
Lucius: Thats his prison vocabulary

vocal run

The movement/flexibility of the larynx which enables the voice to hit individual notes at a fast speed.

Many gospel, soul, pop, and R&B artists apply vocal runs in their songs as means of enhancing their overall sound.... or showing off.

Tori Kelly, Jill Scott, Mariah Carey, Jessie J, and Natalie Weiss do vocal runs perfectly and are great examples of female artists who apply vocal runs to their songs.

Male artists such as Stevie Wonder, R. Kelly, Avery Wilson, and Luke Edgemon do vocal runs perfectly as well.
Tori Kelly's vocal runs are SO PERFECT.

Vocal Constipation

Verb. Another term for stuttering.

When one speaks, subsequently the flow of speech is disrupted by involuntary repetitions and prolongations of sounds, much like when your excrement's exit is hindered by the irregularities of your bowels.
1. "H-h-h-h-h-hello!".. "Bloody hell Peter! That was some serious Vocal Constipation!"

2. Sorry, I won't be able to attend the party on saturday, I'm nursing some serious Vocal Constipation!

vocaloid

Is a voice synthesizer program that allows anyone to make their own songs using a pre-recorded sample of a language's phonetics.

Founded by Kenmochi Hideki in Spain, it was thought of a singing computer. Originally English, the first vocaloids using the Vocaloid software at the time were LEON and LOLA, both British-accented English released at the same time with the launch of the Vocaloid Software in January 15, 2004. MIRIAM was later released as a South African-accented English vocaloid. She was in the very first vocaloid concert in Russia, voice only. The very first Japanese vocaloids were MEIKO (November 2004) and KAITO (February 2006). Vocaloid 2 is an updated version, with its first V2, Sweet Ann. So far, all vocaloid were made for professional use.

Hatsune Miku was made in August 2007, who is the first vocaloid by Crypton Future Media, the first Japanese V2, and the first to have a character design for better marketing. She carried Vocaloid as well. Since then, every other vocaloid had a design for better marketing, but also to represent them.

Vocaloid 3 is a better version that supports 5 languages: English, Japanese, Spanish, Korean, and Chinese. It also has realistic sounding vocals.

Vocaloid 4 is the latest updated version that allows the ability to growl, and cross-synthesis. By this time, there are over 90+ vocaloids.

Vocaloid isn't the first voice synth program, and there are other programs, like UTAU, Alter/Ego, CeVIO, NIAONiao, MUTA, Vocalina, etc.
Vocaloid IA is my favorite because she has a voice that can be quite plain and bland, but is very easy to use for my song-making career.

I don't like Miku because her voice leaves a ringing in my ears, not to mention she takes all the spotlight from the other vocaloids!

Vocaloid is an instrument, not your average idol.
