Stop signs

A stop sign (stäp sīn) is a useless decorative red octagon that is placed to make the intersection appear less empty. A stop sign is useless as neither we cyclists or motorists really come to complete stops. Being a complete waste of brake pads and energy, these useless octagonal ornamentation serves little to no real purpose in life other than government-issued annoyance.

A euphemism for a man who has “passed away.”

Used to signify that a man is no longer alive. Example: “Did you hear, Joe stopped shaving.”

Stop the world and let me off!

You use this phrase when someone repeats a story over and over or if a person is just spouting bull shit. Instead of saying "You're full of it.", you can say (in a sarcastic tone) "Well....stop the world and let me off".

It's also an appropriate response to a big surprise.

"Did you hear the news? Sally is pregnant!"

"After all these years!? Well, stop the world and let me off!"

Stop yelling

Gen Z uses this phrase when they feel "called out" in a humorous and lighthearted way. It is a way to say I connect with/ agree with what you're saying in a joking, unashamed manner.

Similar to loudly telling a secret.

"Some people have daddy issues and dye their hair instead of getting therapy."
