A broader category encompassing any way of knowing that doesn't dominate institutional or cultural conversation. This includes minority epistemologies but also includes outsider knowledge from privileged people who simply work outside established frameworks—maverick scientists, independent researchers, artists whose methods reveal truths that measurement misses. Non-mainstream doesn't mean oppressed; it just means not currently running the show. Some of these epistemologies will eventually become mainstream; others will always remain marginal because they resist the standardization that mainstream requires.
Non-Mainstream Epistemologies "He's a brilliant biologist who was too weird for any university, so he studies ecosystems by living in them for years at a time. Totally Non-Mainstream Epistemology—and his insights are better than half the peer-reviewed papers I've read."

Anti-Mainstream meme mindset

An Anti-Mainstream meme mindset refers to a person in which they have the commitment to stay “niche”. A group of Anti-Mainstreamers will pump out new memes often so they can have their own memes. If a source that finds the meme is deemed “mainstream” or it becomes too well-known (mainstream) the Anti-Mainstreamers collectively flock to a new meme, basically abandoning it. Both of the times that the surge in Anti-Mainstreamers happened, it made a negative impact of the Meme Cycle. (SlimeTok and NicheTok)
Person X: SlimeTok forever! Don’t let the Dandy’s World fandom find our material!
Person Y: NicheTok forever! Don’t let mainstreamers find our material!
Person Z (smart) : All of you have the same Anti-Mainstream meme mindset..

Mainstremo

A current scene in rock music that contains numerous bands who identify themselves or are labelled as emo, but share none of the stylistic traits of foundational emo bands such as Fugazi, Rites of Spring, Sunny Day Real Estate, or Texas is the Reason. This style began in the D.C. Hardcore scene during the Revolution Summer of 1985. Earlier bands often sounded akin to hardcore punk, but utilizing more dissonance and more varied time signatures. Nineties bands were often softer and focused on intricate guitar work and melodies.

Such bands may include Taking Back Sunday, My Chemical Romance, Hawthorne Heights, Fall Out Boy, Something Corporate, As I Lay Dying, and Panic! At the Disco, among others. Most of these bands fit more comfortably into the post-hardcore, alternative rock, or modern rock categories. These bands are known for a generic sound, whiny and/or nasally vocals, and for overtly depressing and sad lyrics. Most of the bands adhere to the stereotypes of the emo fashion, but some, like My Chemical Romance, have adopted their own identifiable look. Their guitar work usually consists of power chords, tuned to Drop-D with heavy distortion, not unlike nu-metal. Some of the more musically technical bands likely fit better into the fashioncore, metalcore, or post-hardcore scenes.
Taking Back Sunday is Mainstremo. Fugazi is emotional/emotive hardcore, the true meaning of emo.
