Decline

Another word for gentrification, where they get enough people living somewhere to stab or shoot one another to move everybody out and buy (really take) the land cheap when it becomes a ghost town.

A lot of neighborhoods in Detroit and places like Detroit would have once been considered by some to be like what suburban areas are now, nice neighborhoods that had houses with lawns, outside of downtown and the business/commercial/industrial areas. The neighborhoods didnt really decline, they did get rid of a lot of people the same way they got rid of a lot of white people after World War 2 in the larger cities, and nothing and nobody replaced many of the people that left Detroit recently. A neighborhood that once was filled with Italians or Jews or another group might become a black neighborhood, but gentrification is the same no matter what the shade of skin of the people that live there, it is a human neighborhood.

deobination

"Deobination" is a mix of Deobi and Nation. Deobi is another word (romanization of hangul: 더비) for Korean boy group, THE BOYZ's fandom name, The B. Deobination simply means the fandom nation where all The Bs gather together and supporting our k-pop idol at the same time, same place, same platform.

Person A: Hey today is April 3rd right?
Person B: Yeah... Wait! It's Deobination Day!!!
Person A: OHH RIGHT!! It's our fandom anniversary!!! Can't believe I almost forgot it.
Person B: Let's see if there are any new fandom events today!

Declinism

The stupid ideological lens that most millennials look through nowadays. Most often expressed in the form of pessimistic sentiments such as "XXXX was a horrible year, I hope next year will be better". Ironically they say that for every year regardless, as they'll always find something horrible that happened.

The opposite of declinism is looking at the world through rose-tinted glasses. Both opposites are bad.

The correct view is to fully embrace in the good aspects while still acknowledging the bad.

After Trump became president at the end of 2016, it seems that the broad population of young American adults have slowly started adopting the view of declinism.

delingpole

Verb. To cite academic nobodies or frauds in an unrelated field to back up one's position in an online argument.

First used by the British journalist and curmugeon Rod Liddle in The Spectator Magazine (UK) 4th December 2021. Refers to the flakey right-wing You-tuber and narcissist (and incidentally the magazine's film critic) James Delingpole.

"Subjected to even the mildest query many of these people immediately began to delingpole. That is with great fury, the started citing hugely eminent figures from the world of science who have proved their standpoint correct, such as Radu Ionescu, a reader in mental illness from the Central polytechnic of Chisanau who once wrote an article saying polar bears were becoming extinct because there was too much ice around. Most of these people are on the political right of the 'Everything They Tell You Is Lies' brigade'.
