Dead is not alive. It is not sick or unhealthy. Dead is dead. The dead victim does not breathe or move but lie in the ground until it is a skeleton and will never see the sky again. Dead for evermore.
(Do not confuse, say, a dead dog with a sick one. Vet expenses are very costly).
