Mostly used by people I don't know.

If the contollor person in your house decides they only want you to wacth "Nova" they can set it so that th V-chip will only allow you to wacth pbs on your television.

It is quite common in the working class suburbs of Australia to be asked to provide the chip and dip if you attend someone else's barbie.
