1. A downtrodden feeling, accompanied by anxiety and a sense of hopelessness. Most commonly seen in those going through the mid to later stages of Puberty.
2. Most definitely NOT a valid source of entertainment.

Holiday Anticipatory Angst

Your desire to see your family at the annual gathering is offset by your anticipatory angst of being judged by your family though your own inner critic judges you mercilessly.

Holiday Anticipatory Angst includes a wide range of stress regardless of one's personal happiness or not so happiness in their own life situation. An example could be when you are pleased with yourself for making a decision regarding a difficult situation, yet have so much angst about revealing your choices at a large family gathering that you have thoughts of skipping the entire event.

mid-dinner angst

The moment when a reformed vegetarian, when enjoying a meal, preferably in a 4 or 5 star restaurant, stares at the ostrich steak with garlic mashed potatoes he ordered and feels a sudden pang of horror at his relaxing ethical standards on the prevention of cruelty to animals. Often involves vomiting, and fleeing both the restaurant, and his date in shame.

A: "Yo, dawg, why did Julian do a loop during the main course?"
B. "Dude, he's suffering from some mid-dinner angst, have some understanding, man."

Teen Angst

Recent cultural phenomenon where young people (typically ages 13-18) think that they have it tough, that they have rights, and that their opinion actually means something, and that they can do whatever the hell they want.

Such uncouth behavior undoubtedly arises from lack of parental guidance. Or because the kid in question is just plain stupid. Normal kids from good families don't have a rebellious, angsty stage.

"This Linkin Park album is so deep."
"I can do whatever I want!"
"I want my freedom!"
"I'm killing myself!"
"You can't control me!"
"I'm like, so totally depressed and stuff."
"It's just a little pot!"
