That part of when you're dating someone and you're basically behaving as if you're already in a relationship but no one has really said or agreed about anything. Can be polyamorous or monogamous.

Daters

Two(or more) people who are romantically involved but do not yet desire the commitment that comes from the title (boyfriend/girlfriend). Daters are often confused with boyfriends and girlfriends but ARE NOT. This confusion often leads to embarrassment or lack of words refered to as aphasia. Sometimes daters suffer from lack of spine or balls. Often times one dater is pursuing the role of boyfriend or girlfriend but their dater is uncomfortable with the title and/ the commitment. Daters are exclusive but not intrusive. Daters have a strong bond.

“Those daters will make great boyfriends and girlfriends one day”

Proclaiming that a significant event will transpire on a specific date. Usually surmised after an attempt at decoding comms messages, translating news drops as hints, or prediction based on theories.
