cain't

"Cain't" is not the same as "can't." "Can't" as you know is a contraction for "cannot." Adding the "i" means that whatever cannot be done is WANTING to be done but is impossible to do so. It "ain't possible." and this is usually due to the circumstances surrounding it.

"Now, Milton. I just cain't get up in that water tower without the ladder."
"You're saying you don't know who took it, then ?"
"Exactly."

Ciaphas Cain

Ciaphas Cain is a servant of the Emperor of Mankind in the Warhammer 40k universe. A Commissar (aka political and tactical officer) most often serving with regiments of the Imperial Guard from the Ice Planet Valhalla. he is never to be found without his faithful aide Jurgen who has the ability to block psychic activity in addition to being stupid and smelly. Cain is a pathological and thinks little of himself. He is however a natural leader and excellent warrior and swordsman. He has an excellent and sarcastic sense of humor and loves to annoy all overly religious legalistic prats. Sometimes found in the employ of the Ordo Xenos Inquisitor Amberley Vail and is her sometimes lover. it should also be noted that he is an expert gambler and drinker. He tend to drink a lot of tanna (tea) and amisec (fine alcohol). He is persuasive and downplays his actions, typically with sarcasm and casual attitude. Also he counts "meat shields" between himself and the enemy and hates being shot at.

Ciaphas Cain is a hero of the emperium often when it suits Inquisitor Vail's needs.

Mark of Cain

The Mark of Cain appeared on Cain when he took his brother Abel's life as punishment. In modern terms, people have a certain look about them that tells you they have bodies behind them. Blood is on their hands and it can never be hidden no matter how hard they try to hide it. It is wise to be able to know the look and keep your distance.

I met a weird guy at the bar who I just didn't like the cut of his jib. I couldn't tell what was up with him. After a few drinks we chatted a bit, and my suspicions were right. The guy has bodies behind him; he has The Mark of Cain.
