(n) popular automobiles like the Prius designed for unassuming environmentally consciencous "green" buyers that solve one catastrophy (fossil fuel depletion/carbon emissions) by displacing it with one or more others (expended fuel cell disposal / increased waste of two drivetrains and two engines per car).

root: sheeple; consumers of such popular overhyped vehicles that do as much harm as good.

The sheeplemobile is no better for the environment than MTB was to the water table as a gasoline additive to improve air quality.
