Compliance audit

A term used by governments that are broke to round up some extra cash from tradesmen and businesses for stupid inane paperwork breaches Can also be used to annoy people they think support an alternate government. May use varying guidelines between regions for extra effect.

My workshop has a compliance audit due for Roadworthy's soon and lpg, environment, air conditioning, tax, OH&S and workplace employment regulation. I wonder if i can make it through the year without an improvement notice or fine

auditor

Whiny individual that is upset with themselves for the career path they've choosen. Often breaks down in tears because the whole world is against them. Rarely do they have a spine. Can generally be placated with a lousy salary and a gift certificate for $10 at Starbucks.

I went to school for a total of 20 years to become an auditor. My parents are so proud of me, but I think I'm developing an ulcer and anticipate having a heart attack so I can take a vacation

Infernal audit

The unceasing questioning of established practices to see if they are in line with internal compliance, ISO standards, laws, etc.

This is usually carried out by accountants who had their personality removed. Another pre-requisite is to be trained by Phil, the Prince of Insufficient Light.

The auditor from the Infernal Audit department brandished his pen and circled out the irregularities in the stationery manifest -- there were 2 pencils short in the inventory, where 10 were recommended.
