When a male friend comes knocking at another friend's bedroom door with full knowledge that he is in the room, but there is a mysterious silence. It is presumed that the friend was beating it.

David is in his room after taking a shower.
Richard: *Knocks on David's bedroom door*
David: *Mysterious silence in the room*
Richard: *Comes back out to the car* I knocked on David's door, but there was no response. I think he's beating one off.

Radio silence

When all work communication has stopped. No phone calls or e-mails are received. No one leaves their cubicle. All transmissions have ceased. Typically happens at work when holidays and/or vacation approach.

I love the days leading up to Christmas. We enforce a strict radio silence policy in our department while I shop online and send text messages all day.
