What the nani - can also be pronounced like this : what da nani, what nani...

A mix of "What the fuck" and the japanese word "Nani" from Ken the Survivor (stands for "What ?!").

Use it when you are very suprised and would be tempted to say "What the fuck ?!", but you really like Japan (and slang is sometimes frown upon).

1) Your father : "You listen to Rammstein ? I hate Rammstein ! It's pure shit !"

You : "What da nani ???"

2) Your girlfriend (if you're a male) : "Hey, in fact I'm a lesbian... Ciao !"

You : "Wh-what the nani ??"

Nani is Japanese for "What" and is used in english sometimes as a dank comeback for when someone says something wired, stupid or just uncomfortable to thing of.

"i have 17 Mongolian children locked up in my basement" Response: "NANI?????"

"私はあなたが持っています私は持っていません" Response: "Nani?"
